“My baskets are expressions of a journey into belonging and relationship with the vegetal environment. They are made from, and in reflection of, the beauty, elegance and interdependence of natural forms and systems. They are an exercise in patience and devotion, to creating something beautiful, entirely by hand, from the quiet and immense wealth of the land. My work is made using traditional basketry, sculpture and woodwork techniques to craft unique pieces that have both functional and decorative potential. My hope is that these baskets will give others new eyes for the plants around us, which have been a cornerstone of human existence since the very beginning, and also bring into the material realm a reminder of what we can make purely from our hands and the green world at our fingertips.”
