Come and dive into three days of basketry amid the beauty of the South Wales coast! This course at Bryn a Mor in Carmarthenshire will be an inspiring and nourishing opportunity to learn new basketry techniques, make new basketry friends, and soak up this beautiful landscape.With my guidance, you will weave a rounded basket from rush and other soft materials such as yellow flag iris and sedge. Working over a mould, you will learn a variety of techniques to create pattern and form, and depending on your experience level and pace may have the opportunity to make a hand-shaped lid. I will also share methods for embellishing the baskets with closures, handles or natural decoration. These make great small storage baskets for tools and materials, or a place to keep special treasures from the land!
